Your Questions About Solar Panel Manufacturers

John asks…

Is the number one way to decrease our dependence on foreign oil, to fully develop our own oil reserves?

Or do we continue to waste hundreds of millions of dollars on the dream of alternative energy scams…

Solyndra, Inc. was supposed to have showcased the effectiveness of the Obama administration’s stimulus and green jobs initiatives, but instead it has become the center of congressional attention for waste, fraud and abuse of such programs.

According to a Feb. 17 letter signed by Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton, Michigan Republican, and Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Cliff Stearns, Florida Republican, to Energy Secretary Steven Chu, the Fremont, Calif.-based solar panel manufacturer should never have received a $535 million loan guarantee from the stimulus.*

Why do that when we can pay Brazil 200b to drill for us in our own Gulf?
It is proven technology, and has been possible to make synthetic diesel, and gasoline from coal for almost 100 years now, but this isn't even a hindsight thought in anyones mind. Why not? America has a almost endless supply of coal. We have oil as well which legislation has locked up.
The price of oil is being artificially driven up through government policy to push the green agenda.
This will only kill our economy, as was demonstrated in 2007.
The majority of people who want the world off oil really want the world to go back in time to 1850.
They are the very same ones who want all the dams breached, and protest the ‘not in my backyard' for any kind of power plant- wind/solar/nuclear, etc. If you look at all their actions it is clear to see they are against energy policy period.
They have no problem hopping on a commercial jet though which burns over 2,200 gallons of fuel per hour, and puts the CO2 in the atmosphere…exactly where they say they don't want it. Go figure!
The green agenda is nothing more than a means of gaining control and enacting Socialism.

Michael asks…

Obama promised that green jobs were the future. Why did 1,000 green jobs just vanish?

President Obama promised to create five million green jobs over 10 years.

Solyndra, a Fremont-based solar panel manufacturer that flared then sputtered, abruptly ceased operations on Wednesday and immediately laid off all 1,100 of its workers.

The shutdown marks a high-profile collapse of a company that received more than $1.6 billion in federal and private funding in recent years.

If green jobs are the future, why do they fail without heavy government subsidy?
Tribeca – Isn't it great that president Obama and General Electric are busy creating jobs in China? Why aren't these jobs here in the USA?

Thomas asks…

Is the obama administration right or wrong to reject this subpoena for Solyndra documents?

President Obama’s attorney sent a letter to Congressional investigators on Friday, saying the White House would not cooperate with a subpoena requesting documents related to its doling out a $535 million loan guarantee to now bankrupt solar panel manufacturer Solyndra.
“I can only conclude that your decision to issue a subpoena, authorized by a party-line vote, was driven more by partisan politics than a legitimate effort to conduct a responsible investigation,” Obama’s counsel, Kathryn Ruemmler, wrote in a letter to the top Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce committee.

Transparent as a brick wall.
Mr. Goose: The results of the Congressional probe shared Tuesday with ABC News show that less than two weeks before President Bush left office, on January 9, 2009, the Energy Department's credit committee made a unanimous decision not to offer a loan commitment to Solyndra.

Transparency anyone? Obamacare was a party line vote, so that makes it ignorable and partisan. It is no longer legitimate based on this White House statement.

Donald asks…

How come Jonathan Silver, like many in the past of the Obama Cabal has resigned?

The head of the Energy Department's embattled loan program, Jonathan Silver, resigned Thursday after a tumultuous month during which the program's first loan recipient, the solar panel manufacturer Solyndra, declared bankruptcy, leading to a wave of scrutiny for his agency.

Energy Secretary Steven Chu confirmed in a statement emailed to ABC News that Silver had stepped down, but said his departure had long been expected.

“Under his leadership, the loan program has demonstrated considerable success, with a broad portfolio of investments that will help American companies compete in the global clean energy market,” Chu said. “Because of my absolute confidence in Jonathan and the outstanding work he has done, I would welcome his continued service at the Department, but I completely understand the decision he has made.”

Like WASTING 1/2 BILLION dollars on Obama's pet project Solyndra, of course that is a “success” for Obama its part of his plan to collapse the very country the fools that follow him live in, and the fools ask why would we anyone want to get rid of the Obama loan program to “greenie” companies.

Lizzie asks…

Are green jobs just an expensive fantasy of the Obama Administration?

?”Solyndra had been named one of the world's 50 most innovative companies and reported sales growth of 40% to $140 million last year. In 2006, the company applied for a federal loan guarantee. It underwent years of rigorous internal and external review before being approved–before the perfect storm of deteriorating market conditions.”–Deputy Energy Secretary Daniel Poneman, op-ed piece, USA Today, Sept. 13
?”The Obama White House tried to rush federal reviewers for a decision on a nearly half-billion-dollar loan to the solarpanel manufacturer Solyndra so Vice President Biden could announce the approval at a September 2009 groundbreaking for the company's factory, newly obtained e-mails show. . . . ‘We have ended up with a situation of having to do rushed approvals on a couple of occasions (and we are worried about Solyndra at the end of the week),' one official wrote. That Aug. 31, 2009, message, written by a senior OMB staffer and sent to Terrell P. McSweeny, Biden's domestic policy adviser, concluded, ‘We would prefer to have sufficient time to do our due diligence reviews.' “–news story, Washington Post, Sept. 14
For all of you deluded people who think wind and solar are the answers to our power dreams: Ain't gonna happen. EVER. Wind and solar are intermittent. We generate power to use at the time it is generated. It isn't stored in a battery. Wind and solar are not reliable sources of power, but can, at best, supplement other, better generators of power.
